Tarte for True Blood Collector's Natural Cheek Stain Review
I had one of those 'OMG not Twilight Vampires' moment when I first opened the lid. Vampires do not and should not sparkle, Then Buffy Killed Edward, The End. Sorry I digress, there is some sparkle in this cheek tint and I was worried it was going to be too much. A little sparkle to highlight is a good thing, too much sparkle and it's just disastrous in my opinion, accentuating pores that one would rather keep hidden.
The deep dark red color didn't frighten me. Tarte's cheek stains are sometimes very boisterous in the tube but sheer out when applied with the fingers. I wouldn't recommend applying from the tube here. Above you can see the color in low semi shaded light. It really is intense isn't it.
Above here you can see it in full sunlight. The sparkle really comes out in the sun. Remember this sparkle highlights, it doesn't make you look like you were made of diamonds like some so called Vampires.
Once applied the color takes on a very nice flush finish and the sparkle is more a shimmer that highlights. I prefer flush type colors on the cheeks, it works with my skin tone and looks more natural. The cheek stain made me think of Jessica from the show. Her make-up tends to be paler than the other Vampires and there is always this lovely flush on her cheeks, especially after she's fed. I don't know it just gives her some innoncence that I like about her Baby Vamp character.
